AI SEO: a practical guide to AI search
More people now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews for recommendations instead of scrolling a list of links. Whether your business gets mentioned in those answers is a visibility question, and it's one you can measure and improve.
That work gets called AI SEO, GEO or AI search optimisation, depending on who's selling it. The good news is that most of it builds on SEO you should be doing anyway. This guide starts with finding out where you stand, then covers what makes AI tools trust a business, and finishes with the tools I actually use.
Step 1
Find out where you stand
Before changing anything, test what AI tools currently say about you. The result tells you which problem you have.
Step 2
Get mentioned and trusted
AI tools recommend businesses they can find, understand and verify. These posts cover how to give them that.
